Now in our 20th year, ABLE has been at the forefront of championing the cause of biotechnology among the government, policy-makers, faculty, researchers, students, and all the stakeholders of the biotech ecosystem since 2003. As an organization we have supported to address all the challenges of the industry, be in championing the need for simplifying many regulatory issues, National Biotech Policies, State Biotech Policies, new Biosimilar Guidelines, etc. Currently ABLE is involved in incorporating necessary changes in the Biodiversity Act to re-look some of its draconian provisions and assisting the Union Government in reforming various aspects of Drugs and Cosmetics Act to bring it in line with global trends. ABLE collaborated with State governments and identified opportunities to promote Biotechnology in the regions. ABLE has been popular among Biotech Institutions with the ‘voice for BT’ programs conducted every year.
During the course of the last 20 years, ABLE proactively campaigned in understanding the broader beneficial aspects of biotechnology that is now propelling the BioEconomy of the country. This is now the trend in many countries. ABLE is proud of the overall development of the BioEconomy at large and the Biotech sector in particular in India.
It’s now time for celebration for en-ABLEing the ‘Biotech sector’ these 20 years to have achieved $80 billion BioEconomy.
