The CoE Space Tech Foundation, Bengaluru, in collaboration with ABLE as the Biotech Industry Knowledge Partner, and Helogen Corporation as the Industry Partner, invites you to the 3rd webinar under the “Space to Society” series.
Building on our previous sessions on *Space Biomanufacturing* and *The role of space stations in scaling biotech research*, this third webinar brings a real mission perspective highlighting how international human spaceflight missions are already enabling biomedical experiments, validating research workflows, and accelerating global partnerships in low Earth orbit.
This session will focus on the practical lessons emerging from Axiom Mission 4 and how collaborative missions are shaping the future of biomedical science in space by enabling:
- Validation of biomedical experiments in microgravity
- International payload integration and mission operations
- Country-led research partnerships through crewed missions
- Translational pathways from space research to healthcare innovation
- India’s growing role in human spaceflight-enabled life science research
The panel discussion will provide firsthand insights into ongoing biomedical payloads, operational experiences from international missions, and how such collaborations are creating a pathway for India’s future in space-enabled biotechnology, translational medicine, and orbital R&D.
Speakers:
- Dr. Peggy Whitson – Astronaut & Vice President, Human Spaceflight, Axiom Space
- Dr. BHM Darukesha – Senior Scientist, Human Space Flight Center, ISRO
- Dr. Shireesh Srivastava – Group Leader, Systems Biology for Biofuel Group, ICGEB
- Dr. Dariusz Zapala – Co-founder & CSO, Cortivision
- Pearly Pandya – Director, International Government Business, Axiom Space (Moderator)
Join us to understand how space-bio missions are moving beyond concept to execution - demonstrating how biomedical innovation in space is becoming a strategic platform for international collaboration, translational research, and the next phase of India’s space biotechnology journey.
