ABLE in collaboration with The Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS), a department of Electronics, IT, BT, and S&T under the Government of Karnataka conducted a seminar on " Biotechnology and Bio Entrepreneurship Development " in association with St. Aloysius College in Mangaluru on April 26, 2023.

The program began with a welcome note by Dr. Narayana Bhat, Director of Xavier Block, St Aloysius College, followed by an introduction of ABLE and the Indian BioEconomy by Mr. Narayanan Suresh, COO, ABLE. Dr. Vishal Rao, Country Director - Head Neck Surgical Oncology & Robotic Surgery and Dean for Centre of Academic Research at Healthcare Global (HCG) Cancer Centre, Bengaluru & Member of Vision Group on Biotechnology, GoK was the Chief Guest & Keynote Speaker for the event. The presidential address was given by Rev. Dr. Praveen Martis, SJ, Principal, St Aloysius College.

The seminar also featured a session on Government initiatives to promote startups & support from Manipal - Government of Karnataka Bioincubator by Dr. Manesh Thomas, Chief Executive Officer, Manipal - Government of Karnataka Bioincubator, Manipal, Udupi. Dr. Fathima Benazir J, Co-founder & Chief Scientific Officer, Azooka, and Dr. Jasmine Shanthi Kamath, Co-founder & Partner, BIART LLP, spoke on BioEntrepreneurship - Opportunities & Pitfalls. The seminar aimed to create awareness and promote entrepreneurship in the biotechnology sector, benefiting various stakeholders in the state of Karnataka.
